The Battle-Hymn of the Liberals

Well, between the Christmas season and the new semester, I haven’t had very much time to write here, (as I’m sure you’ve noticed). I am in the process of writing yet another outstanding post, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share with you a little global warming parody that some friends and I cooked up. It’s sung to the tune of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”.

Verse 1:
The earth is getting hotter; there is carbon in the air;
The world will flood with water, devastation everywhere;
The icebergs they are melting but Republicans don’t care;
The world’s coming to an end!

Global warming is real;
Global warming is real;
Global warming is real;
And it will kill us all!

Verse 2:
You leave a carbon footprint when you drive or mow the lawn;
And those greenhouse gasses will prevent the heat from moving on;
We’d better ride our bikes or soon we’ll all be dead and gone;
Global warming will kill us all!

Verse 3:
Conservatives are so naïve, they can’t see past today;
Their coal-consuming factories will burn the earth away;
We can’t continue on like this, Gore has a better way;
Al Gore will save the world!

Verse 4:
So go on home, replace your bulbs with the fluorescent coil;
Unplug your toasters, scrap your trucks, stop using foreign oil;
Go plant a tree and save the earth, to this end we must toil;
Together we’ll save the earth!

Global warming is real;
Global warming is real;
Global warming is real;
But we can save the earth!
